Frequently Asked Questions — Corporate Power Backup
Answers to the questions most commonly asked by procurement managers, facility teams and IT heads when evaluating power backup solutions for their enterprise.
About Nishant Power Solutions
Yes. We operate entirely in the B2B and institutional segment — serving IT companies, data centres, banks, hospitals, manufacturing plants, telecom operators, retail chains and government bodies. We do not supply residential or home power products.
We serve corporate clients across all 28 states and 8 union territories of India. Our headquarters is in Mumbai and we have active clients in Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Surat, Nagpur and many tier-2 cities. Supply and installation is coordinated through our national partner network.
Established in 1999, Nishant Power Solutions has over 25 years of experience in the corporate power backup industry. We have received the Indian Achievement Award 2021 and the Atmanirbhar Bharat Award 2021 for our contribution to India's power infrastructure.
We are an authorized dealer and distributor — not a manufacturer. This means we supply genuine products directly from manufacturers like APC by Schneider Electric, Eaton, Emerson/Vertiv, Numeric (UPS brands) and Exide, Leoch, Quanta, Amaron (battery brands). Every product carries a valid manufacturer warranty. Our role is to design the right solution, supply genuine equipment, execute the installation and provide ongoing maintenance — all under one roof.
UPS Systems for Corporate Use
We supply single-phase UPS from 1kVA to 20kVA and three-phase UPS from 10kVA to 6,000kVA. For modular and scalable data centre UPS, we supply Eaton and Emerson/Vertiv solutions that can be expanded in capacity without replacing the core UPS chassis. The right capacity for your facility is determined by a free on-site load assessment by our engineers.
Online (double-conversion) UPS: Equipment always runs from battery-backed inverter output — providing 0ms transfer time and complete isolation from mains power quality issues. This is what we recommend for server rooms, data centres, hospitals and critical equipment.
Offline (standby) UPS: Equipment runs directly from mains; the UPS only switches to battery during mains failure with a 4–10ms transfer. Suitable for non-critical office loads where cost is the priority.
Line-interactive UPS: Provides automatic voltage regulation (AVR) without switching to battery. A practical middle ground for offices with frequent voltage fluctuations.
For any corporate critical load, we always recommend online double-conversion UPS.

Yes. Three-phase UPS installations are a core part of our business. We supply APC Galaxy, Eaton 9PX/9SX, Emerson/Vertiv Liebert and Numeric systems from 10kVA to 6,000kVA. For each project we handle site survey, cable sizing, battery room design, civil coordination, installation and commissioning — including full load testing before handover.
- Standard single-phase UPS (1–20kVA): 2–5 working days from order confirmation, including delivery and installation.
- Three-phase UPS (10–100kVA): 7–15 working days including site preparation, cable work and commissioning.
- Large industrial/data centre UPS (100kVA+): 3–6 weeks depending on civil readiness and equipment availability.
- Emergency rental UPS: Can be deployed within 24–48 hours for urgent requirements.
Battery Banks & Runtime
Battery bank sizing is based on three factors: total critical load (kW), required backup time (minutes/hours), and the battery type chosen. Our engineers perform a load audit at your facility, then calculate the exact number and capacity of batteries required. We also account for temperature derating (Indian summers reduce VRLA battery capacity by 15–25%) and ageing derating (batteries are typically sized for end-of-life, not new capacity). All battery bank designs are provided with a written sizing calculation sheet.
Standard UPS models include internal batteries for 10–20 minutes at full load. We regularly design and install external battery banks for extended runtimes:
- 30 minutes — basic server/data protection
- 1–2 hours — most corporate offices and branch operations
- 4–8 hours — hospitals, telecom, critical control rooms
- 24 hours+ — remote sites or off-grid setups with generator coordination
We supply Exide (India's largest battery manufacturer), Leoch (industrial AGM/GEL specialist), Quanta (high-cycle SMF batteries), Amaron/Amara Raja, and Rocket. For each application we recommend the most appropriate technology — VRLA/AGM for standard UPS use, GEL for high-temperature environments, and Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) for applications requiring longer lifespan, lighter weight or faster recharge. We supply battery banks from a single battery to 200+ battery strings.
AMC & Service Contracts
Our AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) for corporate clients includes:
- 2–6 scheduled preventive maintenance visits per year (depending on plan tier)
- Battery health testing and capacity load test
- UPS firmware updates where supported
- Internal cleaning, connection torque check and component inspection
- Guaranteed emergency breakdown response with written SLA (4-hour response for Comprehensive plan)
- Detailed service report after every visit
- Dedicated account manager for all service coordination
Yes — multi-site AMC is one of our most common corporate service offerings. Under a single contract, we cover all your locations across any number of cities and states. You get one contract, one invoice, one account manager and a single consolidated service report across all sites. This is popular with banks, retail chains, hospital groups and IT companies with distributed operations. Volume discounts apply for contracts covering multiple sites or large numbers of UPS units.
Our SLA response times by plan:
- Basic Plan — 24-hour response during business hours (Mon–Sat)
- Standard Plan — same-day response during business hours
- Comprehensive Plan — 4-hour emergency response, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day
Procurement & Commercial
The process:
- Step 1 — Contact us with a brief of your requirement (location, estimated load or equipment list, backup time needed).
- Step 2 — We schedule a free site survey and load assessment at your facility.
- Step 3 — We provide a written technical proposal with equipment specifications, layout drawing and itemised commercial quote.
- Step 4 — On approval, we coordinate installation within the agreed timeline with daily progress updates.
- Step 5 — Handover with test reports, warranty documents and AMC documentation.
Yes. We provide:
- Formal GST-compliant quotations on company letterhead
- Tax invoices (GST registered)
- Manufacturer warranty certificates for every product supplied
- Installation completion and test reports
- AMC contracts as formal legal agreements
Yes. For established corporate clients with a purchase history, we offer credit terms of 30–60 days against purchase orders. For new corporate relationships, we typically work on advance or partial advance basis for the first 1–2 orders, after which credit terms are considered based on order volume and payment track record. For very large orders (above ₹10 lakh), we can also discuss milestone-based payment schedules.
