Electrent Elect UPS FAQs
UPS mode operates within a narrow voltage range (185V–265V) and switches to battery immediately if the mains voltage goes outside this range — ideal for computers, servers and sensitive electronics. W-UPS (Wide UPS) mode accepts a much wider voltage range (105V–285V), only switching to battery at extreme voltages — ideal for fans, lights and general home appliances. You can select the mode using the rocker switch on the back panel.
The Electrent Elect uses a multi-stage charging approach — bulk charging when the battery is low, followed by absorption charging and finally a gentle trickle/float charge when the battery reaches full capacity. This prevents overcharging, which is the primary cause of premature battery failure. This intelligent process extends the battery life by 18–24 months compared to conventional inverter chargers.
The Electrent Elect UPS supports both TUB (Tubular) and SMF (Sealed Maintenance Free / VRLA) batteries in 100Ah–200Ah capacity. The charging mode selection switch on the unit allows you to set the correct charging profile for your battery type. It also pairs natively with the Electrent LiFePO4 Battery Bank for a full lithium upgrade.
The Electrent Elect UPS provides comprehensive protection: overload protection (auto shutdown after 6 retries above 100% load), short circuit protection (immediate shutdown at >200% load), card heat protection (warning at 100°C, shutdown at 110°C), battery high voltage protection (>16V for 12V / >32V for 24V) and MCB trip protection. All faults are indicated via the LED display with different colour codes.
